Frequently Asked Questions

Who are my patients?

The people I see are interested in integrating medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes in their mental health care. They are motivated to empower themselves to “do the work” to transform their mental health. They are at least 18 years old.

I am currently not able to accept patients who are actively suicidal or engage in current self-harm. I believe these patients are best treated within practices that can offer 24/7 coverage.

What can i help with?

I am a full-service mental healthcare provider, meaning that I am trained to provide both medications and psychotherapy to help with: anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit disorder, relationship issues, life transition issues, etc.

Do i accept Insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare?

I do not accept insurance, medicaid, or medicare. Appointment fees are due at the start-time of each appointment. I insist on providing excellent care that is thorough, and these insurers reimburse with the expectations that appointments be completed in half the time I spend with my patients. Having less administrative burden also allows me to provide more focused care with shorter wait times. Depending on your insurance benefits, my charges are most likely reimbursable to some degree. I will provide you with a detailed “superbill” to submit for reimbursement if that is your request.

Do i work with other providers?

Yes, I will collaborate with your psychotherapist you are already seeing if you are seeing me strictly for medication management. If I deem that you need a specific psychotherapy modality that I do not perform, I will provide you with appropriate referrals. I may also request to see records from your prior providers to get a better understanding of you psychiatric history. If needed, I will also collaborate with your primary care doctor or other doctors taking care of you to ensure highest standard of care.

DO I OFFER VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS?

Yes, with some exceptions. I understand the value and convenience of virtual appointments in our post-pandemic world. My current policy is that our first appointment must be in-person, but we can discuss virtual appointments following that. Please note that I do not prescribe controlled substances via virtual appointment.
